Pixel Riot are part of a creative services business supplying original and individual visual and promotional solutions to both businesses and the consumer. We produce large format prints of products and also produce personalised clothing and products amongst other things. We also supply the consumer with personal framed large format prints and clothing etc. We will have an on and offline presence and we have plenty of attitude. Our unique selling point is our willingness to embrace theunconventional and original. We do things no one else is either brave enough or capable of.

This is a great project for really creative designers.
I have given this a good prize because it is a good project and have also guaranteed this contest as I believe in paying for great design.
Just as importantly you know you will be paid for your massive effort.

Our name alone ‘pixelriot (pixel riot) should give you an idea of our attitude and style.

When you have read this I hope you will be able to understand my thoughts and aims.
Once you have read this, read it again, there is a lot here to take in.

The design needs to be so thought provoking that the client can't put it down.
The message we want to convey through the design will leave the client so intrigued, they just have to find out more.

The logo it’s self and / or the overall feel needs to be edgy and atmospheric, even abstract, cutting edge and thought provoking, with plenty of attitude and leave the viewer unable to put the item down or stop looking, I want the customer to imagine they have a piece of modern art in their hands.

The logo can be typographical and / or include a motif. The most important thing is that it will also work /combine in some way on pixelated backgrounds (see Below), whilst also being able to stand on its own when required.

At present ‘pixelriot’ will always appear as one word either with or without the .ie , so there needs to be an easy definition between ‘pixel’ and ‘riot’ or be readable as a word.

The Business cards need to be double sided and ideally will need to include 4 pixelated images or colour variations (One for the front of each card as there will be four cards eventually printed). The front will only refer to the name pixelriot.ie.
I envisage the reverse side background to be a pick of colour from the front side.
The reverse needs to also contain Address information and small a list of our services. (I can supply this when required).

The letterhead will carry much the same information. It can even carry the images used on the business cards one way or another. I will also need to convert the letterhead design to a Complement slip and Label at a later date.

The Card needs to be a postcard which will be left in cafes etc and again needs to have massive impact for instant effect.

I have attached a few visual reference points, I particularly like the pixelated landscape (the red one with the dark strip arcross). The attached files are only to point you in the right direction of my approach.

(Not so keen on this but it sort of explains what I am NOT looking for, it is too obvious).

Image wise I was thinking about different art movements as inspiration, that said I am open to your creative minds, so I do not want to interfere too much with your thinking. All I will say is try and avoid the cmyk feel, I am looking for strong images, colours and hues..... 'Make this ART!!!.

This concept also needs to appeal to both businesses and consumers, although if the design is right this will happen naturally.

The logo and images will be used for print and web in a range of sizes either collectively or on their own.
