We offer a 100% refund of your design crowdsourcing project’s award if you don’t like any design submission. Only applies to non-guaranteed projects.
Terms and Conditions
We created this website to provide a place for Latin American creatives and creatives from all over the world to show their work, to find new clients, to make more money and to have an active community of creatives away from the contests.
In addition, we created this website
to join companies with creatives from all over the world in order to present
the most unique and diverse variety of designs for their contests.
Choosa members are creative,
talented people from Latin America and from all over the world who are
passionate about creativity and business. These guidelines help us to leave the
contest in the competition and outside the community.
1.
General Community Guidelines
1.1.
This is a peaceful community!
Choosa is a large, global community
with lots of different people. As in any well functioning community, we'll
never agree on everything; so just keep in mind: when you disagree, be polite
and respectful.
Remember, this is a peaceful
community. Your participation should be focused on creating the best design!
1.2.
Respect OPIP.
Respect other people's intellectual
property.
Every creative soldier works hard to
create original ideas and designs. Choosa is serious about protecting
copyrights and intellectual property rights. Do not post or use content that is
not your own.
1.3.
Choose your words carefully!
At Choosa, you're on a global
community platform, and the text and images you post to the site stay online
for everyone to see. So before you post something, make sure you are comfortable
with the way it presents you to the community.
1.4.
What's on your mind?
Don't be shy!
Respectful, thoughtful and
constructive criticism helps creatives improve their artwork, and helps contest
holders get the designs they need.
1.5.
When should you 'Report'!
Every now and then, you might
stumble upon content that surprises you - in a bad way! Whether it's an
offensive comment, a copied design, or something else that doesn't fit just
report the problem to our support
Focus your energy on designing - we
will handle the rest.
1.6.
Why should you leave Feedback?
This is an Beta launch version and
we're here to stay, to grow and to improve the application. So, again, don't be
shy! Tell us about any problems or suggestions you might have and we'll try to
remedy the situation a.s.a.p!
In a clear and concise message let
us know what you like, and what you don't, and make sure you check our base for
upcoming features and status updates.

Rules for Contest Holders
Contest Holders, please read this page carefully! Start by reading the general community guidelines, that's the best place to begin. But make sure you read this page as well. You'll want to follow these guidelines before you start a contest for your design.
2.1. General
- Multiple Contests for the same project.
If you wish to have multiple design tasks (business card, logo design, and letterhead) please contact us.
- Keep it clean.
Make sure everybody feels comfortable with the content of your contest and nobody gets offended.
2.2. Prizes
- No money, no contest!
Choosa attracts the best creatives in the world. To
maintain the high quality of our designers, you are required to offer a cash
prize for your contest.
Naturally, if you'd like to offer extra cash or non-cash prizes, you're most
welcome. After all, your contest will become more attractive to creatives.
- Guaranteed contests!
We want the creatives to feel secure while being on
the contests. Therefore we will ask you to deposit the prize money in an escrow
account before we launch your project. This account will be managed by Choosa
so that the creatives can be reassured that they'll receive the prize money at
the end of the battle.
If you have opted for a non-guaranteed contest, you can recuperate the money
within 30 calendar days after the competition ended. This option has been implemented
with the objective of permitting reimbursement if you are not happy with the
results, or in the event of unforeseen circumstances which means that the
contest has to be abandoned.
- Set up the right prize!
Don't keep your prizes a secret. Designers will want to know exactly what they'll get if they enter the battle, so make sure you tell them.
- Choose your privacy level!
You can choose the public contest modality, accessible to all visitors of Choosa, or the private contest modality, so the development of your designs is accessible only to Choosa´s registered users and it won´t appear on the search engines.
2.3. Feedback and Discussion
- Communicate.
As a general guideline, communication will get you further and make your life as a contest holder easier.
- Give feedback on the designs submitted.
Feedback will ensure that you get the best design.
Creatives use this information to design or modify their work so that it fits
your specifications. And those feedbacks also serve your self-interest: your
reputation will increase and with it the entries to your contest.
Contest holders that fail to provide feedback often see lower interest in their
contest - so it is in your best interest!
- Make your wants, needs and specifications
crystal clear.
The creatives need constructive, considered feedback, with as much detail as you can give. The clearer your feedback, the more likely you'll be to receive great designs.
2.4. Withdrawn or neglected contests
- Guaranteed and Not Guaranteed contests.
Guaranteed: The price money will aways be paid by the Contest Holder
and no money can be refunded. Guaranteed contests bring in more creatives and designs.
Not guaranteed: If the Contest Holder is not satistief with the results of the contest or
something has occurred meaning that the contest will be abandoned, they can recuperate
the prize money within 30 calendar days. If the Contest Holder does not ask for a refund after 30 calendar days
the contest will go to Community Vote and a winner will be declared.
- Contest neglect vs good reputation.
We recommend that you provide comments and feedback. If you don't comment or provide feedback on your contest for more than 7 days, the designers will start feeling very lonely on the competition and will decrease their involvement in your project. Neglect your contest, and you'll be neglecting your reputation.
- End of contest
We require the contest holder to award the winning design within 14 days. If the contest holder doesn’t manage to do this within the 14 days time frame, the following process will start:
- An independaet Expert Panel will choose the best three designs of the competition
- The community of designers will choose their best design out of the selected three through an online poll.
- The Expert Panel, will take the poll results into account and finally chooses the best design fitting the contest holder’s needs as a winner.
If for any reason the contest holder cannot comply within the 14 day period, we ask them to please notify Choosa Support in due time.
- Fraud-Free Enviroment
Choosa reserves the right to investigate if a contest is in line with rules and regulations of the platform. If we suspect fraud we will hold the prize money in escrow until we have satisfied our information needs. The contest holder has the burden of verifying his identity and legal ownership of their credit card or bank account. The contest holder must provide Choosa with legal documents that prove his identity (i.e. passport, national photo ID) along with a bank or credit card statement that correlates with the information provided.
In case Choosa is not satisfied with the provided data it can decide to send a project for a 'community vote' and pay the prize money to the winner of this vote. Please see rules & regulations regarding 'community vote' here: 2.4 Withdrawn or neglected contests.
2.5. Transferring Artwork
- Choose your own format.
You must specify the format in which you require the finished design.
What we recommend: if you're having a logo designed, we'd ask for the art in a vector format like that produced by Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator. You can resize vector graphics without any loss of quality - something JPG, GIF, TIFF and PNG files don't allow.
- Confirm the downloaded files
After downloading the files you need to confirm in order for us to deliver the prize money to the winner. If you fail to confirm the files within 10 days the system will automatically do so.
3. Rules for Creatives
Creatives, some battle rules for you! Maybe you want to start reading the general community guidelines, that's the best place to begin. But make sure you read this page as well - you'll want to follow these guidelines before you enter a (creative) contest.
3.1. General
- Choose your contest carefully.
Do you feel comfortable entering the contest?
What's the contest holder's reputation like? Have they posted many contests before? How much feedback have they given?
Are there many contest entries?
These are the kinds of things you'll want to know before you dedicate your time and talent to any contest.
- Dealing with other creatives.
Contests should stay on the professional field.
Whenever you want to communicate with other creatives, a private message is the best way to go. We have created a community off the contests that allows you to communicate with other designers privately.
Remember, your reputation is important at Choosa - don't risk it by posting personal matters on the base.
- Multiple users.
At Choosa you are permitted to have one user per IP which ensures that the users in the community are genuine. You may request additional users when needed if given a legitimate reason.
3.2. Dealing With Contest Holders
- Be professional.
When contacting a contest holder, you should act as if you are contacting a client. Be respectful, polite and professional. They should treat you the same way.
- Read the Brief!
Read the brief carefully. The better you follow the contest holder's directions, the better your chance to impress them and win the contest!
Contests winners deliver quality designs to the brief.
If you don't understand something in the brief, or require more information, contact the contest holder.
3.3. Prizes
- Payment methods.
PayPal and, in some cases Bank Transfer are the payment options Choosa provides.
We want you, the creatives, to feel secure while being on the contests and therefore we will ask the contest holder to deposit the prize money in an escrow account before we launch their project.
Choosa will distribute the prize money after receiving confirmation from the contest holder that he has received the artwork in the format he required. The prize money will be paid within 22 working days and the creative is responsible for the transfer costs according to the payment method he chooses.
3.4. Copyright
- Change your mind? Withdraw your entries.
You own your entries, and you can withdraw them from the contest whenever you like - unless you've been declared the contest winner and have been paid the prize.
- Your copyright.
You own the copyright to your designs. Choosa retains the right to display the preview or use the design for promotional purposes.
A contest holder can't legally use your design, or a derivative of it, without paying you the prize. If you suffer a copyright infringement, report it to us as soon as possible.
- Copyrights Transfer
In Choosa, all creative designs are original and therefore, copyrights and intellectual property belong to their creators.
Once the designer receives the prize money of a winning contest, all copyrights are automatically transferred to the Contest Holder.
If many versions of the winning design were made during the process, these still belong to the designer even after receiving the prize money. If the Contest Holder wants to buy one or all other variations of the winning design, then he/she will have to arrange this individually with the designer and Choosa will not take part on this arrangement.
We are very strict when it comes to copyright violations and it is clearly explained on the previous items (Copyrights 3.4)
- Other copyright.
The work that you post should be of your property,
and you must be legally entitled to publish it.
You must not use work from image banks or other websites. All the designs must
be original and of your authorship.
If you breach this rule, your user account will be deactivated temporarily or
permanently, according to the seriousness of the case. All your designs
participating in competitions will be removed.
